At the end of the year, Ukrainians in Calgary can enjoy the following events: the play "The Snow Queen", a Christmas party for children, a workshop on creating holiday decorations, UCAN Radio Night 4.0, and a masquerade ball.


The Play "The Snow Queen" by Strum Theatre

December 20, 7:00 PM

About the event. The Ukrainian theatre in Calgary presents a new production. Throughout December, actors will perform a story inspired by Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale The Snow Queen.


This is a play about the adventures of two teenagers, their belief in the power of friendship, and their courage to overcome the dark magic of the Mighty Queen. The performance will captivate both children and adults, as everyone will find their own meaning in it.


This is the second Canadian production by Kharkiv director Snizhana Gukasyan-Korobeyniko. Earlier in the fall, Strum Theatre presented the play The Muse.

Christmas Party for Children

December 21

Ages 3–5: 12:00 PM–2:00 PM

Ages 6–11: 3:00 PM–5:30 PM


About the event. Happy Party Event Agency invites children aged 3 to 11 to a festive winter celebration. To accommodate all participants, two separate parties are planned: one for younger kids and one for school-age children.


The program includes interactive games, dance competitions, a themed photo zone, a disco, delicious treats, and most importantly, a visit from Santa Claus.

Floral Night Workshop

December 21, 6:00 PM


About the event. Victory4U, a volunteer organization that purchases and delivers drones to Ukraine's defenders, is hosting a charity workshop. Previously, they organized a workshop on creating holiday greeting cards.


This time, florist Tetyana Lysnyak (@tatka270786) will share her expertise. Participants will have the chance to create a Christmas floral arrangement to decorate their homes.

UCAN Radio Night 4.0

December 29, 5:30 PM–11:50 PM


About the event. UCAN Radio Night 4.0 is back with a new and expanded format! This year’s highlights include the traditional battle between Canadian pianists and Ukrainian pianist Ivan Kharlamov, as well as new hits from the band "Crazy Horse."


The event will also feature the world's first Ukrainian mechanical bull rodeo championship, with prizes for those who hold on the longest. Additionally, there will be a raffle for New Year’s gift certificates totaling approximately $2,000 CAD.


On the menu: Classic New Year’s dishes such as Olivier salad, crab salad, tangerines, and varenyky (dumplings).

🎟️ Admission: $15–35 CAD. Tickets for $15 CAD (no assigned seating) are still available, allowing attendees to move freely between five bars and two stages. Children under 7 enter for free; minors under 18 are allowed until 9:00 PM.

New Year’s Masquerade by HULBA

December 31, 9:30 PM–2:30 AM


About the event. The organizers of Ukrainian dance parties in Calgary invite you to ring in 2025 at a festive masquerade ball. The program features live music by JT Band, performances by guest artists, and a raffle with exciting prizes.


As the theme is a masquerade, a dress code will be in effect: masks, costumes, and evening wear are encouraged.


Additionally, HULBA events support the Ukrainian Armed Forces. To date, the organizers have donated $21,500 CAD, with part of the proceeds from each event going to aid Ukraine.
