Women’s Business Club Meeting: "Employment Insurance: What Every Worker in Canada Should Know"

October 19, 11:00-12:30 PM


About the event. The Women’s Business Club will discuss the essentials of employment insurance (EI), including eligibility, how to apply, and the duration of benefits in the event of job loss. The session will also cover different EI programs and what happens after receiving unemployment benefits. The speaker will be Ray Ivanus from Service Canada, with English as the main language, and Ukrainian translation available. Specific questions can be addressed during the session.

Gingerbread Cookie-Making Workshop

About the event. A warm, welcoming space awaits girls at Art Calgary for a workshop on making gingerbread cookies. Participants will enjoy tea, sweets, and get to take home their own beautifully decorated cookies, adding an autumn touch to every detail.

Online Seminar: "Pathways to Permanent Residency for Newcomers from Ukraine"

October 24, 5:00-6:30 PM

About the event. Ukrainians are invited to an informational session on obtaining permanent residency in Canada. Immigration consultant Oksana Todorenko will cover key immigration programs, details about Express Entry, and the Alberta Opportunity Stream. Other topics include choosing the right NOC, required documents for temporary residents, and what to do if PR isn’t obtained within three years. The seminar will be in Ukrainian.

UktoberFest

October 25, 5:30 PM

About the event. The Ukrainians of Calgary Association (UOCA) invites everyone to UOCA’s charity event, UktoberFest. Guests can enjoy craft beer tastings from local breweries, snacks, and a three-hour concert featuring Western Country Music and modern Ukrainian and international songs, with a special "music battle." Proceeds will go toward supporting medical professionals and facilities in Ukraine.

About the event. Event organizer Ilona Marchenko (@happy_party_calgary) invites children to a Halloween party featuring animators Hermione and Magic, a themed photo zone, a photoshoot with a professional photographer, a fun paper party, treats for all participants, and many surprises. "Tryzub" Dance Ensemble 50th Anniversary Celebration

About the event. This year, Calgary’s Ukrainian dance ensemble "Tryzub" celebrates its 50th anniversary. All Ukrainians in Calgary are invited to a grand concert. Founded in 1974 by seven dancers, the group has grown into a large family with its own school for young Ukrainian dancers. The anniversary celebration promises live music, delicious food, and a special 50th-anniversary dance performance.
