In mid-August, Ukrainians in Calgary can look forward to sailing adventures, kayaking on Lake Minnewanka, a communication workshop from a theater director, a comedy night, and a wardrobe refresh workshop by a stylist.


Sailing on a Yacht at Glenmore Reservoire

Monday-Frida, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Weekends – 11:00 AM, 3:00 PM, and 6:00 PM


About the event. A group of Ukrainaans from various cities formed tha INUA yacht team in Calgary, where they share their love for sailing. The team, which includes members from Odesa, Dnipro, and Oleksandria invites everyone to join them on their 26-foot yacht for a sail on Alberta's largest reservoir, Glenmore Reservoir, located near Heritage Park. 


The reservoir, which provides the city's fresh water supply, prohibits swimming and motorboats. but sailing is allowed. The typical excurtion lasts two hours, with the program tailored to individual preferences. Those eager to harness the wind will be taught to sail, while others can relax and enjoy a scenic tour of the reservoir's surrounding. For romantics, a sunset sail and candlelight dinner are offered.


The yacht usually accomodates up to 4 tourists and 2-3 crew members. Sail times are weather-dependent.

Kayaking on Lake Minnewanka

August 17, start at 9:00 AM


About the event. Outdoor enthusiasts from Water spaces are organizing a day trip kayaking on the picturesque Lake Minnewanka, lokated in Banff National Park. The itinerary includes kayaking on the lake, a stop at Stewart Canyon Bridge, and a 1.5-hour hike to explore the canyon and take photos from the bridge. The group will have lunch on a cape with stunning views of the lake, followed by a visit to the spillway, swimming, and sunbathing for those interested.


The price includes equipment and instructor support. Transportation to the starting point is not included. Participsnts are advised to bring sunscreen, comfortable shoes, lunch, snacks, and, most importantly, a good mood.

Women's Business Club Meeting – Communication Workshop with Theater Director Snizhana Bora

August 17, 11:00 AM - 12:30 PM


About the event. Ukrainian actress and theater director Snizhana Bora from the "Artist" theater in Calgary will conduct a workshop on how to use acting skills in business communication. The session will cover concentration training and techniques for effective communication. Snizhana will share how to improve to make spontaneous performances convincing and provide voice techniques for confident and clear communication.


This workshop will be valuable for everyone, as today's job market demands not only professional knowledge but also high-level communication skills. There tips can be applied during job searches, interwiews, adaptation in a new team, or important negotiations.

Ukrainian Stand Up Comedy

August 17 серпня, 6:00 PM


About the event. This time, Gulba invites you not to a disco, but to a night of Ukrainian humor. The stand-up event will feature comedians from Toronto, including Olexander Kotsyk, who has performed worldwide: from Kiev to Rio de Janeiro, Vancover to Los Angeles, and New York. Now, he's bringing laughter to Alberta. The comedians will perform in Ukrainian at 6:00 PM, followed by in English performance at 7:30 PM.

Wardrobe Reset Workshop: "From Chaos to Perfect Style"

August 18, 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM


About the event. Fashion stylist Ksenia Gospodinova, with ten years of experience in the fasion industry, will create a workshop on how to effectively create and combine clothes. Using her proprietary method, Ksenia will teach participants how to optimize their wardrobe, leaving only favorive and essential items. The program includes creating a shopping list to save money while avoiding spontaneous purchases that end up unworn. Additionaly, the designer will share tips on finding hidden gems in your closet and planing outfits to always look stylish and appropriate.
